Gajar ka halwa also known as gajorer halua, and carrot halwa is a carrot-based sweet dessert pudding from the Indian subcontinent. 

Halwa is a Hindi word and the English word is pudding. Halwa is a very famous sweet in India. Halwa can be Besan (chickpeas) Halwa, Suji(Semolina )Halwa, Potato Halwa but Carrot Pudding is a more delicious and famous dessert in Indian cuisine.  The main ingredients of this recipe are carrots, and Milk.  It is made by placing grated carrots in a pot containing a specific amount of water, milk and sugar, cardamom, and then cooking while stirring regularly.

Today I am making Carrot Halwa without grate and khoya. It is an instant pudding recipe that is ready within 30-40 minutes. You should try it.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg carrot
  • 300 ml condensed milk
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 10-12 cashew
  • 8-10 Almond
  • 2 spoon butter or ghee

Directions

  • Chop the carrots into small or medium pieces.

  • In a pressure cooker boil these chopped carrots with 50 ml water and give 3 whistles.
  • Filter boiled carrot and remove the water.
  • Take a big pan, put carrots, milk, and condensed milk. Mix well and put on gas with medium flame for 30 minutes. To avoid burning, keep stirring every 5 minutes till the liquid evaporates and halwa becomes thick.
